Good golly!

I’ve been away for a loooooooong time.
I spend much more of my time on “InstaFaceTweetBlr”, rather than WordPress, so I tend to forget that I even exist here.

I haven’t posted here since….. September!
Wow.
My apologies for that.

We’ve settled in to our new home (Shift Fitness, Massage and Yoga in NE Minneapolis), and classes are going really well.
Since I added the new movements to the level 1 curriculum, and rearranged some of the level 2 and 3 movements – per FCBD® recommendations – students seem to enjoy level 1 more. Classes simply seem more dynamic than ever!

Classes are ongoing; yesterday marked week 3 (of 6) in our current session.
Our next session will begin the first week of March.

We will have some more big announcements for KCDC soon (#vaguebook), so keep an eye out for that.

If you aren’t following me on Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, or Twitter, you’re missing out.
I promise to try to post here more often, but I am much more connected to those.
Here are some of the photos you all missed!

April 2016 News!

Good morning, friends!

Kamala Chaand Dance Company rolled out our brand new class curriculum the first week of March. We’re excited to have new movement vocabulary available to our students.

FatChanceBellyDance® has re-sorted several movementsmall into new class levels. Movements such as the Reach & Sit, Box Step, and even the Propeller and Corkscrew turns!

I’m so happy to have a larger movement repertoire for my level 1 students, as I feel it makes the class more fun and dynamic, and better prepares students for moving on to higher class levels.

Join us April 27 (Wednesday) or April 30 (Saturday) for our next session!

I’m still in the healing process, havinv had surgery only 6 weeks ago. My scar is fading day by day, and mobility is almost completelyreturned in my neck. I’m slowly regaining my stamina; I hope to be back to myself by the end of the year.

Happy dancing, friends!

Henna by Mehndi Moments

Henna by Mehndi Moments

The henna became a bit of a problem… well, not the henna – the lemon spray to help set the color attracted a few bees.
I have several on my arms while I tried to dance.
I have an allergy, so I tried not to have a panic attack on stage.
I was not entirely successful.
O.o

I wish I had taken a picture, but I completely destroyed a pair of dance shoes on the concrete. Eeep!
Fortunately, I have enough of a dance-callous that my feet were fine.

Overall, it was an amazing and beautiful day.

BIG NEWS FROM OUR DANCING DAUGHTERS!!

OUR DANCING DAUGHTERS IS OFFICIALLY FILED AS 501C3!

The GoFundMe is still active as of Sept 8, 2015 2:11pm cst. You can still get in on the rewards up until we close it down.

Keep your eyes peeled; KCDC merchandise will be available for sale soon, with a portion of the proceeds being donated to ODD.

FANTASM!

Kamala Chaand Dance Company was asked to dance at Blueberry Pie Productions, LLC’s FANTASM!
We danced in the Saturday show (April 11th) along with many other amazing acts.

Amy and Jeanna, the brains behind the show, are crazy-talented and wonderful women.

I’ll hopefully have video soon. In the meantime, here are some AMAZING photos taken of our set.
