Did you miss us opening night? Never fear; we have 4 more shows!!

An unlikely hero faces dark magic, jealousy and revenge to thwart a terrible curse and loved one’s “death-like sleep.” Embark on an adventure in dance and music theater.
“Sleeper” is an original cracked fairy tale-in-dance that draws on folklore tales of the Arabic, Persian and western worlds, served up with beautiful contemporary and traditional ethnic dance, wonderful music, live percussion, gorgeous costumes, and the theatrical comedy style audiences have come to expect from Mirah Ammal and Al-Bahira Dance Theater.
This show is enjoyable for all ages–lots to amuse and entertain the adults without or with kids, PLUS a theme and structure that is specifically kid-friendly (and that challenges some stereotypical notions of fairy tale heroes.)
SHOW TIMES:
Thursday 8/4 10:00 p.m.
Saturday 8/6 1:00 p.m.
Monday 8/8 7:00 p.m.
Thursday 8/11 8:30 p.m. **audio description available
Sunday 8/14 1:00 p.m.

Watch What You Wear – Cosmetics and Animal Cruelty

Makeup Check

StFair Nesting Dolls

As a belly dancer, makeup is a HUGE part of my routine and budget; I spend a lot of time selecting the right products for various events.
It’s important to me to have products that are not only safe for MY skin, but are also safely and ethically created.

There are only three parent companies on this list below who do not support animal testing. It’s a sad thing too because many of these child companies – MAC, AVEDA, Origins – that don’t test on animals, are owned by them.

We just learned that E.L.F. products are not owned by a parent company, but do have a stakeholder that does not support animal testing.
E.L.F. is pretty great makeup, budget friendly, and cruelty free on all accounts.

I was recently introduced to The Elixery, another cosmetics company dedicated to cruelty free beauty.

It makes me sad that while Aveda does not test on animals, nor does MAC, Estee Lauder does.
